The Kensington Commercial Kitchen is a Shared Commercial Kitchen Space (aka Commissary) based in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia with start of the art equipment and amenities. All Tenants receive 24/7 Access to the building and all kitchen equipment to launch, run or grow their food business. 

The goal of the Kensington Commercial Kitchen is to charge the lowest possible monthly rent for it's space so it can serve as a Food Entrepreneur Incubator in the city and be used as a launching pad for brands in the region. 

The space and strategy behind The Kensington Commercial Kitchen is the brainchild of Kensington Food Company owner; Thomas Sheridan. Kensington Food Company is a Veteran Owned Gourmet Food Producer, Wholesaler and Retailer with Production Facilities, Bottling/Packaging Facilities and Warehouses in Kensington. They also have a Retail Store in the historic Reading Terminal Market as well as a Community Grocery Store on Kensington Ave, which is connected to the Commissary building. 

Thomas Sheridan was born and raised in Kensington and his business now calls the neighborhood home. The goal of launching The Kensington Commercial Kitchen was not to simply open another shared kitchen for every and any food truck, restaurant or caterer to operate. The theory was to create a new, beautiful, licensed and AFFORDABLE commercial kitchen for Food Entrepreneurs and Emerging Brands to have a home where they can safely and affordable get off the ground and/or grow. 

With the amazing and gracious help of The Kensington Corridor Trust (a local non-profit organization in Kensington), the dream was made a reality. The Kensington Corridor Trust invested over $500K into the space and helped Kensington Food Company bring it's vision to reality.
